CF Ontario Announces the 2019 Recipient of the Award for Excellence in

Community Economic Development


September 16, 2019 – Bruce, Grey and Wellington Counties, ON

Today, Community Futures Ontario (CF Ontario) is pleased to announce that Saugeen Connects as recipient of the Award for Excellence in Community Economic Development honoured at the 26th Annual CF Ontario Conference in London, Ontario (this year held in partnership with EconoUs).

Saugeen Connects addresses current issues facing the five municipalities (Brockton, Hanover, Minto, Wellington North and West Grey); labour force development, entrepreneurship, youth and newcomer attraction, aging population, and succession planning.

Saugeen Connect’s mission is to collaborate and positively impact area economic growth, support women in business, youth retention and development, support growth and retention of businesses; and to integrate efforts to leverage immigrant attraction to the area as residents, workers, entrepreneurs, business owners, operators and investors.

The Community Futures Program is a Canadian government funded program facilitating rural economic development. Each year, they recognize excellence in three categories: Entrepreneur of the Year, Innovation, and Community Economic Development.
