Orillia Youth Social Enterprise Corporation operates the Orillia Laser Tag (OLT) facility, where they employ and train at-risk youth within a supportive environment, enabling them to gain new skills and a sense of direction.  The new acquired skills benefit employees both personally and in the community.  The business provides employees with appropriate programs, referrals to other community agencies and services, the opportunity to be involved in the ongoing operation of the facility and a transition plan to find further employment.  In addition, the business provides the community with a safe, supervised activity centre for its youth and families.  OLT was voted “Best Family Entertainment Centre” in the Orillia Packet & Times Readers Choice Awards.  As well, OLT was recognized at the Orillia Chamber of Commerce Business Achievement Awards for their “Entrepreneurial Initiative.”  OLT has employed a total of eight youth since opening their doors.  To date, five of these individuals have transitioned to further education or stable employment.  Two others are expected to transition to stable employment by June 2011.  OLT also employs a full-time General Manager, a full-time Assistant Manager, and offers volunteer opportunities to individuals looking to complete their community volunteer hours.
