BTSD began its operations in 1986 as a small, niche-based manufacturing company.  BTSD manufactures specialty residential screen doors and several complementary products for the residential home improvement market.  BTSD has turned a small and local niche product market for customizable & stylized residential screen doors into a multi-million dollar business selling units across Canada and the U.S., as well as part of a signature product series for Home Hardware Building Centres.

BTSD received an HBDC loan of $100,000 in April of 2003 and has recently been approved for a second loan of $200,000.  At 30 employees, the success of BTSD directly benefits nearly 30 Huron County families.  From a much broader perspective, BTSD has recently made a long-term commitment to Huron County by becoming one of the first tenants to purchase its manufacturing facility at a local industrial park.  Through this outwardly simple action, and in a very real and measurable way, BTSD is positively impacting hundreds of local families in an especially low-income area of Huron County (more about this in the next question) by acting as an anchor tenant of sorts for other business located in the same industrial park.
