(Thursday May 9, 2013)  Norlok Technology Inc. won the Technology category award from the Brantford/Brant Chamber of Commerce’s 2013 Business Excellence Award.

Since 1994, Norlok Technology Inc., has led the way in sheet metal fastening.  At Norlok’s new, 12,500 square foot facility, they design and manufacture a line of clinching machines under the Norlok name.  Clinching is a method of fastening sheet metal together.  The alternatives to clinching are riveting, spot-welding or bolt and screwed together applications.  Norlok is known for its heavy duty machines and its ability to build custom machines for a variety of different clinching applications.

Pictured here with his pride and joy, the SURELOK III system, is Jeff Boatright, President of Norlok.  Jeff says, “…the tools provided by Enterprise Brant aided me greatly in planning for a major expansion of our business in Brant.  The Business Plan Creator and Cash Flow Forecast tools are an easy to follow system.”

In October 2010, Jeff approached Enterprise Brant for $150,000 to finance the takeover of the production of the Attexor line, which was manufactured in Switzerland.  The agreement moved the manufacture of the product, a consignment inventory, drawings and rights to patents to NorlokAttexor rounds out the product line, giving Norlok a portable clinching tool to augment their heavy duty machines.

Norlok is currently beta testing an innovative system that will radically change fastening in a new industry segment.  Although very secret, Jeff reports initial testing has gone very well and there is significant interest in this new fastening solution.
