Jonathan Clow, his wife and their children were nicely ensconced in Port Alberni on the whale watching coast of Vancouver Island, where he had purchased a growing Chiropractic practice.  That purchase was made possible with assistance from CFDC of Port Alberni-Clayoquot.  After 10 years, things couldn’t have been better except they were missing their families who lived back in Ontario.  Jonathan decided to sell his BC business and re-locate to Ingersoll, Ontario.

Based on his Western experience, Jonathan approached Oxford Small Business Support Centre for assistance re-establishing himself locally.  He faced a different set of circumstances here and OSBSC worked with him to establish a viable plan for a brand new Chiropractic Clinic.  With OSBSC’s assistance, Jonathan put his plan together, beginning with his business plan and proceeding through to his loan application supported by appropriate research and financial data.

Using his professional experience, as well as the material he had prepared, we approved a Micro Loan to get his practice going.  While faced with the usual wrinkles, Jonathan has developed a solid client base, which he reports is growing steadily.  He has quite a diverse patient base, drawing from throughout the County, and his referral activity is increasing.

Several months after the clinic opened, the CFDC invited Jonathan to an OSBSC/BDC partnered Marketing Training Seminar and he was an enthusiastic participant.  According to Jonathan, he took away some valuable ideas to promote his business, some of which he has implemented to further improve his clinic’s activity.
