In 1986, Elgin Community Futures Development Corporation first opened its doors.  Since then, the Corporation has evolved, expanded and rebranded to the Elgin Business Resource Centre (EBRC) to better reflect our imprint in the community.  Our main office is located at 300 South Edgeware Road, St. Thomas.

Our centre aims to be a “One Stop Shop” for both budding and seasoned entrepreneurs.  Services include business lending, business counseling, seminars and workshops, community development and youth programs.  Programs include the Ontario Self Employment Benefit Program and the Small Business Enterprise Centre and business incubation through the Innovation Centre for Entrepreneurs.

Recently, in partnership with the St. Thomas Economic Development Corporation, EBRC was a driving force behind the development of St. Thomas and Elgin County’s first mixed-use business incubator (2011).

Most recently, in partnership with the County of Elgin, our full suite of business services and programs will be offered through our Aylmer satellite office (2012) and our newest Dutton satellite office (2013).

Also located at Elgin Business Resource Centre are the Innovation Centre for Entrepreneurs, IRAP, OACFDC, and the St Thomas & District Chamber of Commerce.  All of the community partnerships create a win-win situation for the business community of St Thomas and Elgin County.
