The OACFDC Board recently held its annual strategic planning session in North Bay.  Thank you to those who provided input to your regional Board Representative in preparation for the meeting.  Discussions included a review of activities to date and prioritizing strategic directions for the next 4 years.  Integrated into the process were valuable materials from a Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE) Governance Summit training session.  Members looked at trends impacting associations:  three keys to sustaining success (a reputation for value, an enjoyable culture, a nimble infrastructure); association's unique DNA (members as owners, customers and work force); what strategic boards choose to focus on; volunteer work structures; standards by which to design and manage committees/workgroups; and how leadership teams measure success.  The next Board meeting is scheduled for September 25th in Sudbury, including a lunch session with Louise Paquette.
