Blue Mountain Resort reports an excellent uptake of rooms for the Community Futures National Event scheduled for May 28-30, 2009.  At this early stage, over 600 people have booked.  If you haven’t reserved rooms yet, go to and click on Accommodations.  The National Event Committee is currently finalizing plans with speakers and setting up the schedule for Workshops and Discussion Groups.  Online Registration for the Event will be available on the website by the end of this month.  When you register for the conference, you can review the descriptions of the Workshops and Discussion Groups, and make your selection.  We have a very interesting and informative line-up:  six different Workshops will be led by professional experts, while the 12 Discussion Groups will have facilitators and call on all participants to contribute.  In each of the four time slots set aside for break-out sessions, there will be three workshops and three discussion groups - two each of interest to Boards of Directors, Managers/Investment Officers, and Community Economic Development Officers.  With many fascinating topics, there is something to interest everyone.  Make your plans now to visit “Spectacular Rural Canada” near Collingwood on beautiful Georgian Bay.
