9 month contract (Maternity Leave)
The North Claybelt Community Futures Development Corporation requires a dynamic, bilingual, individual with strong relationship skills and business acumen to fill the position of Business Development Consultant.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Consultant will advise on issues involving the investment portfolio. It is expected that the Consultant will promote the growth and expansion of North Claybelt CFDC’s investment fund with due diligence and integrity.
In addition to providing direction on the fund, the Consultant will work with the Board and the Executive Director to increase access to entrepreneurship training and awareness.
SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE
- · Administer the Investment Fund as per the organization’s policies · Provide business services to clients
- · Act as a referral point for clients to service providers in the area · Assist clients in the business planning process
- · Interview and evaluate clients and their proposals for financing
- · Prepare credit submissions with recommendations for the Board of Directors · Prepare necessary documentation for credit approvals
- · Monitor loan portfolio for delinquency and compliance
- · Monitor client financial statements on a regular basis as per approval conditions
- · Prepare and report all activities relating to Investment Fund to the Board of Directors · Attend all Board of Directors meetings
- · Responsible for some aspects of community development as it relates to business development i.e. presentations, attendance at trade shows, job fairs, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
- · Related Post-Secondary education (Business Degree or Diploma) and/or strong relevant business experience. · Experience in counseling entrepreneurs
- · Experience with and understanding of developmental lending
- · Knowledge of data base, spreadsheet, and accounting software required · Excellence in researching, evaluating and developing business plans
- · Working knowledge of computers and office software programs such as Microsoft Office and Simply Accounting · Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both oral and written
- · Ability to work effectively with fellow staff and board members, clients, government representatives as well as financial and other institutions
- · Ability to deliver customer service in French and English is essential · Valid Driver’s License
- · Willing to travel to outlying communities
