Guelph, ON [May 7, 2010] – The Rural Ontario Institute (ROI) is pleased to announce the launch of our brand new website www.ruralontarioinstitute.ca - a web portal devoted to information, opportunities and resources for a strong and vibrant rural Ontario.  The site features a “What’s New” section on its homepage to provide visitors with information on ROI’s latest activities.  The subscription option provided on the website makes it easy for visitors to become a "part" of our organization and access even more resources.  In the coming months, we will be adding more "added value" content to the subscriber area of the site.  As well, there will be an area for online forum discussion of the issues facing rural Ontario.  Subscription is free through December 2010.  ROI has a mandate to provide rural leadership development and focus on multi-stakeholder engagement for the purposes of engaging rural stakeholders and developing and delivering community engagement strategies; securing and communicating ground intelligence on rural issues; and informing decision makers on rural issues.  Information available through the site includes our current key areas of focus:  • Leadership • Rural Environment • Rural Health • Community Economic Development.  In addition to the site’s informative content, the design and interface have been developed in a way that is easy to navigate.  The Rural Ontario Institute website will be of interest to a wide range of visitors including students, adults, rural, urban, public and private sector stakeholders – there will be something for everyone.  We hope that you find it of value.  Please let us know what you think.  We invite you to visit www.ruralontarioinstitute.ca and to support the Rural Ontario Institute by subscribing today.
