What We Do
Supporting Rural Businesses,
Strengthening Communities
Community Futures Ontario supports a network of 60 Community Futures Development Corporations (CFDCs) serving rural communities across the province. Together, the network helps entrepreneurs access business financing and advisory services while partnering with local organizations to advance community economic development that strengthens local economies and creates lasting impact.
Supporting Ontario’s Community Futures Network
Community Futures Ontario is the provincial association representing Ontario’s network of CFDCs. We strengthen the network through advocacy, collaboration, professional development, shared services, and practical resources that support local CFDCs in serving their communities.
By fostering collaboration, sharing knowledge, and advocating for the Community Futures Program, we help ensure local CFDCs have the tools, training, and support they need to respond to the unique opportunities and challenges facing rural Ontario.

Supporting Entrepreneurs and Communities
CFDCs are locally governed, not-for-profit organizations dedicated to strengthening rural communities. They provide flexible business financing and personalized advisory services to help entrepreneurs start, grow, expand, and transition their businesses. Their local knowledge, relationship-based approach, and flexible decision-making enable them to respond to the unique needs of the communities they serve.
Beyond supporting individual businesses, they work alongside municipalities, economic development organizations, Indigenous communities, educational institutions, and other local partners to advance community economic development. Through strategic partnerships and locally driven initiatives, they help create jobs, attract investment, strengthen local capacity, and build resilient rural economies.
Creating Lasting Impact
Every year, CFDCs across Ontario help entrepreneurs start, grow, and transition businesses while creating jobs, supporting investment, and strengthening local economies. Together, their work creates lasting economic and community impact throughout rural Ontario.
Whether you’re an entrepreneur looking to grow your business or a community partner exploring opportunities for collaboration, your local CFDC is ready to help.
