About us
For 30 years, our 60 Community Futures Development Corporations (CFDCs) have been helping people turn business ideas into reality in rural Ontario. We support the CFDCs in delivering business and financing services to the communities they serve. Community Futures is a program with a mandate to assist small business and community economic development efforts in rural Ontario. Our experts offer local assistance from 60 offices throughout rural Ontario. Community Futures offers a variety of services and tools to help entrepreneurs and small business owners achieve their goals, including business support services, business planning advice, loans and self employment assistance. Community Futures provides financing alternatives to small and medium enterprises when access to credit is a challenge to starting or growing their business. Different than a bank, Community Futures uses a unique lending criteria, focusing on rural development and providing business financing to small local businesses. We also work in partnership with other business lenders, educational institutions, not-for-profits and community governments to grow and diversify the local economy. Community Futures is funded by FedNor and FedDev Ontario.

Today as Canada mourns our 18th Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Brian Mulroney, Community Futures organizations across Canada honour his service and his legacy, which we are proud to be a part of. Created in 1985 under his government, the 267 Community Futures offices across the country continue to support hundreds of local small businesses in rural and remote areas almost 40 years later. Thank you, Prime Minister Mulroney, for your service to our country. ------------------ Aujourd'hui, alors que le Canada pleure son 18e Premier ministre, le très honorable Brian Mulroney, les Sociétés d'aide au développement des collectivités de tout le pays rendent hommage à son service et à son héritage, dont nous sommes fiers de faire partie. Créées en 1985 sous son gouvernement, les 267 Sociétés d'aide au développement des collectivités du pays continuent, près de 40 ans plus tard, à soutenir des centaines de petites entreprises locales dans les régions rurales et éloignées.
