The Conference is Almost Here!

Timminsconflogo

The conference is only a few weeks away and as it nears we have a few reminders:

  • We will be using the app "EventMobi", sponsored by Fern Software, to keep you updated during the conference, so if you haven't already completed your profile and set up your schedule we invite you to do so prior to the Conference to get a head start. However, our volunteers will be happy to help guide you through setting up the app if you don't have the chance prior to arriving at the Conference.
  •  Registration is still open, workshop space, however, is limited
  • Make sure you have reserved your hotel room, the Holiday Inn is sold out, so book with the Senator if you haven't already. On that note: make sure to cancel extra rooms ASAP to avoid cancellation penalties
  • Finally...don't forget to warm up your pipes for karaoke Host Night!

Update: Thank you all for voting, the Members' Choice Award winner has been selected and will be announced alongside the other award winners at the Awards Banquet September 20th.

We look forward to seeing you all in Timmins!

Managing the Impact of Marijuana in the Workplace

marijuanaandtheworkplace

Marijuana is set to be legalized for recreational use as of October 17, 2018. For many employers still struggling with how to accommodate employees who have been prescribed cannabis for medicinal purposes, this will create new challenges and questions. How do you define impairment and fitness for work? What types of tasks are safety sensitive? These are key concerns that leadership needs to manage before the legislation passes.
